Three Phases for Community Improvement
In partnership with the Elmore County Health Coalition, WICHC applied for the groundbreaking 4-year Get Healthy Idaho grant. Together, these two groups are implementing an action plan addressing complex health challenges and improving upstream barriers to health across Elmore County.

Phase 1: Qualitative Community Assessment
Completed in the spring of 2021, this assessment is the first of its kind. Using interviews, focus groups, and online surveys to hear from Elmore County residents, the assessment helps us better understand the health of the community from the perspectives of community members.

Phase 2: Action Plan Development
Using the community assessment as a guide, an action plan was developed to provide foundational upstream resources for improving physical and mental health in Elmore County.

Phase 3: Implementation
The final three years of the grant will include implementing the action plan items listed in Phase Two, as well as ensuring sustainability of these resources for years to come.
